تقدم توزيعة NixOS حلولًا متطورة للأجهزة المكتبية والخوادم على حد سواء، التوزيعة منيعة، حيث تحفظ قلب النظام معزولًا لتجنب الأخطاء، وتحتفظ بنقاط عودة عند أي تعديل، لضمان امكانية استعادة النظام حال حدوث أي مشكلة.
يمكن إعادة إنتاج النظام بنفس التطبيقات والإعدادات على أي جهاز، باستخدام ملف اعدادات واحد.

Install NixOS⚓︎

Partitioning and Formatting on UEFI without SWAP⚓︎
  1. List all Disks
lsblk
  1. Create a GPT partition table.

    parted /dev/vda -- mklabel gpt
    
  2. Add the root partition. This will fill the disk and the space left in front (1GiB) which will be used by the boot partition.

parted /dev/vda -- mkpart primary 1GiB 100%
  1. Finally, the boot partition. NixOS by default uses the ESP (EFI system partition) as its /boot partition. It uses the initially reserved 1GiB at the start of the disk.
parted /dev/vda -- mkpart ESP fat32 1MiB 1GiB
parted /dev/vda -- set 2 esp on
  1. Format vda1 as root

    mkfs.ext4 -L nixos /dev/vda1
    
  2. Format vda1 as boot efi

    mkfs.fat -F 32 -n boot /dev/vda2
    

Mount Partitions⚓︎

  1. Mount the target file system on which NixOS should be installed on /mnt, e.g.
mount /dev/disk/by-label/nixos /mnt
  1. Mount the boot file system on /mnt/boot, e.g.
mkdir -p /mnt/boot
mount /dev/disk/by-label/boot /mnt/boot

Generate the Configuration file⚓︎

nixos-generate-config --root /mnt

Customize the Configuration file⚓︎
